The 2018 Session. The General Assembly has adopted new legislation intended to make the  property tax system fairer for Georgia citizens. Summarized here, the bills have been signed by the governor and go into effect as of the date described within. Many of these bills will appear on the ballot come Election Day.

House Bill 202 Passes. House Bill 202, with many important changes for Georgia property owners, was approved by the Georgia House and Senate in the last minutes of the 2015 session. A Costly Lesson for the Wayne County Board of Tax Assessors. On March 21, 2012, a Wayne County Superior Court Judge remanded the 2008 digest to the County Board of Tax Assessors for the reassessment of all timber producing properties over 150 acres citing the Tax Assessors' failure to comply with applicable legal and regulatory directives. Group to Review Property Tax Policy. The Cherokee County Ledger-News, January 3, 2012. Roger Land joins property tax policy group in anticipation of 2012 legislative session.

Senate Bill 346 signed by Governor Perdue. SB 346 was signed into law by Governor Perdue on June 4, 2010. Roger Land played an important role in the drafting of this law, which makes over fifty changes to Georgia's propery tax law.

Roger Land discusses national security with General David Petreaus. On a visit to Atlanta in January 2010, Roger Land, member of the Business Executives for National Security, discussed national security issues with General Petreaus.
